The short version

50Paisa is a personal money tracker. Your data is used to show you your own money and for nothing else.
We do not sell your data, show ads, or share it with advertisers or data brokers.
Bank SMS and payment notifications are read on your phone. Only the transaction found in them (amount, merchant, date) is saved, never the message text.
You can export everything or delete your account at any time from Settings.

Account: your name, email address, optional phone number and a hashed password (we never see or store your password itself).
Money records you add or that the app detects: transactions, accounts and cards (bank name, nickname and last 4 digits only, never full card or account numbers, CVV or PINs), budgets, goals, investments, recurring payments, lend & borrow entries and shared-finance groups.
Settings such as theme, reminders and alert thresholds.

If you allow it, the app reads incoming SMS from banks and notifications from payment apps on your phone to spot debits and credits.
This happens on the phone. Only the transaction it finds is sent to your account, along with a one-way fingerprint of the message so the same payment isn't added twice. The message text is not stored or sent.
Personal messages are ignored. You can switch this off at any time in Android settings.

If you switch it on, an Android accessibility service notices the volume-button gesture you chose and opens quick add.
It does not read your screen, what you type, or anything from other apps, and sends no data anywhere.

When you ask the assistant a question, a summary of your figures (totals by category, budgets, goals, investments, recurring payments) and your question are sent to the AI service that writes the answer.
Your password, email, phone number, account numbers and SMS text are never included.
Your chat history is kept on your device only. "New chat" clears it.

If you join a shared group, its members can see the expenses logged in that group and the members' names. Your personal transactions stay private.

Data is stored on our server in a PostgreSQL database and sent only over encrypted HTTPS connections.
On the phone, sign-in tokens are kept in the device's secure storage (Android Keystore). You can also lock the app with your fingerprint in Settings → Security.

Export: Settings → Export data gives you a CSV or PDF of any period.
Delete: Settings → Delete account removes your account and every record in it permanently.
Permissions: SMS, notification access, the volume-button shortcut and fingerprint lock are all optional and can be turned off in Android settings.

50Paisa is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
